St. Patrick's Day Events in Colorado Springs
St. Patrick’s Day fun is available for the whole family in Colorado Springs. Find a parade, bike ride, 5K run, Pub crawls, folk music and performances, and more. No matter what type of activity you are looking for to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, there is something going on in Colorado Springs. Here is a look at just some of the available events.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Saturday, March 12th at noon in downtown Colorado Springs. The parade route starts at the corner of Tejon St. And E. St. Vrain St. it continues south on Tejon St. to Vermijo. For the best seats, purchase tickets to sit in the grandstands, or just find yourself a nice spot to watch anywhere along the parade route.
See floats, musicians and athletes from local schools, dancers, and other performers in the parade. Also, wear your kilt or just grab any green clothes you can find to celebrate with all those in attendance. This parade has been a tradition since 1985. However, it’s been canceled the last two years because of the pandemic. For this reason, many residents are excited for its return.
5K for St. Patrick’s Day Race
Taking place right before the parade, the 5K for St. Patrick’s Day is the flattest 5K in the city. Wear a kilt or something green for this race that takes place downtown on Saturday, March 12th at 10 a.m. Packet pickup is available at the St. Patty’s Sports Expo on March 11, 2022. This event will take place in the ballroom of the Mining Exchange - A Wyndham Hotel.
If you have a child hoping to race, sign them up for the Leprechaun Fun Run. This also will take place on March 12, 2022. The race will begin at the corner of Tejon and Bijou at 11 a.m. Race registration for both the 5K and the Leprechaun Fun Run can be found here.
St. Patty’s Sports Expo
As mentioned above, the St. Patty’s Sports Expo will take place on Friday March 11th, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be held downtown in the ballroom of the Mining Exchange - A Wyndham Hotel. This event is not just for packet pick-up before the race, many local businesses who are geared toward health and fitness will be at the expo. Come see the latest in running, hiking, biking, and everything else outdoors. Anyone who did not register for the race online can do so at the Expo.
Pedalin’ St. Pat’s Family Ride
Families are invited to participate in the Pedalin’ St. Pat’s Family Ride. On parade day, March 12th, participants will start at the parking lot of Trail’s End Taproom, ride down and be in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and then ride back to Trails End. Because of participating in the parade, everyone is invited to decorate their bikes, wear green, and be ready for some fun. Register to participate here.
Pedalin’ St. Pat’s 30K and 50K
Bikers who like a challenge are invited to participate in the Pedalin’ St. Pat’s 30K and 50K. This event will take place on March 19th, 2022 at Trails End Tap Room. There is an intermediate and a challenging course. The intermediate course is about 21 miles in distance and the challenging course is about 31 miles in distance. St. Patrick’s Day at the Lager House
After the parade, stay in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit and head over to Pikes Peak Brewing Lager House. This is located at 514 S. Tejon St. Irish dancers will perform at 2:30 and the Pikes Peak Highlander Pipe and Drum Corps will perform at 3 p.m. After this event, stay a while and celebrate the holiday with good friends and cold beer.
5th Annual Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Crawl
Join a huge crowd and participate in the 5th Annual Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Crawl on Saturday, March 19, 2022. The check in time is between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and the crawl will span many downtown restaurants and bars. These include Tony’s, The Gold Room, The Carden, The Block Bar and Grill, Supernova, Oskar Blues Grill and Brewery Local Relic, Jack Quinn’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, Chiba Bar, Bar K, and American Legion Post 5.
With a ticket, receive two complimentary drinks or shots, exclusive drink specials, tasty local food, a custom lucky badge and lanyard, waived cover at all venues, and more. There will also be a $1,000 Grand Prize Costume Contest, an awesome after party, and a professional photographer. Jack Quinn’s Irish Pub and Restaurant
If you are looking for an Irish Pub experience on or near St. Patrick’s Day, head out to Jack Quinn’s Irish Pub and Restaurant. March 5th through March 11th, there will be Irish specials available. For an appetizer, enjoy beef and barley stew with Irish soda bread. The entree is Dublin pasta, which is fettuccine with mussels, tossed with bacon and onion in a celery cream sauce. On the side, munch on garlic toast. End your meal with a car bomb torte. Enjoy layers of Irish whiskey-soaked chocolate cake and Irish cream ganache covered in a Guinness chocolate buttercream.
In addition to the food specials, Jack Quinn’s is participating in the pub crawl mentioned above. They will also have live music many nights surrounding St. Patrick’s Day. On parade day, Jack Quinn’s is planning something special from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be fiddle tunes and dancing by NEREA. In addition to the typical Irish songs, there will also be prizes.
